Public-zone AI for client questions and office work

Simple apps for client triage and everyday admin. They run on a public model. They never see confidential client files.

IQ Assist answers common questions from approved firm content, and helps with office chores that stay on the public side of the line. When the work involves client files, that is Secure Law or Secure Accounting.

Conceptual animation of IntelekIQ Assist as an open front door. Public visitors send questions through an open gateway to the Assist node. Most get an answer straight back out to the public, so Assist absorbs the repetitive enquiries a firm would otherwise field by hand. Only a few qualified enquiries route to a person. A key labels the two kinds of traffic: teal for public questions and answers handled by Assist, and brass for qualified handoffs to a person. The sealed core, Secure Law and Secure Accounting, stays separate behind the firm boundary.

Where it sits

The public side of a simple line

IntelekIQ draws one line: public tools for general work, private AI for confidential client files. Secure Law and Secure Accounting sit on the private side, on premises. IQ Assist works the other side of that same line: the public front door, where the information is already meant to be seen.

That is what makes it safe to run on a public model. Nothing confidential goes near it. A prospect asking whether you handle their kind of matter is not confidential client work. It is marketing and intake. IQ Assist answers those questions, then hands a person a clean summary.

Same brand, same discipline: a clear line, and a human who decides.

Diagram of where IntelekIQ Assist sits. On the public side of the firm boundary, website visitors reach the Assist unit, which retrieves authorised public knowledge from a firm-controlled RAG egress and uses a third-party frontier model (for example OpenAI) to compose an answer. Only the question and retrieved public snippets are sent to that model, which sits outside the firm. Assist answers from approved public content, deflects repetitive questions, and hands qualified enquiries to a fee earner. A firm boundary wall separates this from the sealed core, Secure Law and Secure Accounting, where confidential work stays. No confidential work crosses into Assist, and the frontier model never touches it.

Two shapes

One outward-facing, one for the office

Both live on the public side of the line. Both are small, scoped, and human-supervised. Neither sees confidential client files.

  • Client triage assistant

Public · on the firm’s website

An assistant that answers the repetitive questions prospects ask before they speak to anyone: would you take my case, do I have a claim, what does this cost, what do you need from me.

It answers only from approved, public firm content, qualifies the enquiry, and hands off to a person with a tidy summary. It deflects the unbillable questions that professional firms spend hours on, and captures the ones worth a call.

  • Office assist apps

    Internal · complements Microsoft 365

Small, single-purpose helpers that sit beside the tools staff already use, for everyday admin that never includes confidential client files.

Think intake formatting, first-draft standard letters, meeting-note tidying, or finding the right template. They complement a 365 estate rather than replace it, and stay on the public side of the line.

How the client triage assistant works

A firm’s IQ Assist talks to their public content library. This website is different: Ask IQ Assist is IntelekIQ’s own triage, answering from these public pages. Try it here, or use the fly-out on any page.

Flow diagram of the client triage assistant. A prospect question enters from the left and is grounded on approved public firm content at a central hub. It then resolves to one of three outcomes: a repetitive question is answered and the answer travels back to the prospect; a promising enquiry is qualified and handed to a person with a summary; or an out-of-scope question is routed to a person. The assistant gives no advice and never touches confidential files.
  • 01

    Deflect

The repetitive questions firms answer for free get a clear, sourced answer, freeing lawyers and staff from unbillable back-and-forth.
  • 02

    Qualify

Promising enquiries arrive at a person already summarised, so the first human minute is spent on judgement, not intake.
  • 03

    Hand off

Anything out of scope routes straight to a human, with no pretence of advice the assistant is not qualified to give.

Office assist, beside your 365

The second shape is small, single-purpose helpers for the admin that eats time but never includes confidential client work: formatting an intake, a first-draft standard letter, tidying meeting notes, finding the right template.

They sit beside a Microsoft 365 estate and complement it, rather than replacing anything. And they stay firmly on the public side of the line: the moment work involves client files, ledgers, or KYC, that is Secure Law or Secure Accounting, not IQ Assist.

Small single-purpose helpers, such as intake formatting, standard-letter first drafts, meeting-note tidy-up, and a template finder, sit beside the everyday office estate like Microsoft 365 and complement it rather than replacing it. A separated band shows the boundary they never cross: confidential client work belongs to Secure Law and Secure Accounting.

What IQ Assist is (and is not)

A public-zone assistant, not a place for client files

Is

A public-zone assistant

  • Answers built only from approved, public firm content (services, FAQs, process, fees where the firm publishes them)
  • A qualify-and-handoff flow: the assistant prepares; a person picks up the enquiry
  • A light front door to the firm, sitting on the public side of the line
  • A practical first step into firm-approved AI, with a clear next step to Secure Law or Secure Accounting

Is not

A place for client files

  • A place to put confidential client files, ledgers, or KYC (that is Secure Law or Secure Accounting)
  • A source of legal or tax advice: it informs and routes, it does not opine
  • A replacement for lawyers, accountants, the intake team, or your practice systems
  • Private AI under the firm’s control: it uses a public model, so confidential work never goes near it

Where it fits in the family

A first step, before private AI for client files

IQ Assist is designed as an easy first step: a firm can adopt firm-approved AI on public work, see how IntelekIQ handles it, and move to Secure Law or Secure Accounting when confidential work is on the table.

IQ Assist vs Secure Law and Secure Accounting

Same brand discipline, two very different jobs

The distinction is deliberate, and it is the whole reason IQ Assist can safely use a public model. Confidential work never crosses into it.

How it stays honest

Grounded answers, or a graceful handoff

  • Approved content only

IQ Assist answers from approved firm content only. Where it cannot support a point, it says so and routes the person to a human rather than guessing. No invented authorities, no advice it is not qualified to give.
  • Firm rules, not a loose match

Triage follows the firm’s own routing rules: which service, which team, which next step. The public model supplies the language; the firm supplies the truth.
  • AI prepares; people decide

The same rule as Secure Law and Secure Accounting: the assistant prepares, a person decides. That is why the same brand can stand behind both.

How it answers

The firm supplies the truth. A public model supplies the language.

IQ Assist answers from content the firm has approved. A public model handles the language. Retrieval stays on the firm-controlled side, so the knowledge base remains something you can update or erase.

Only the visitor’s question and the retrieved public snippets are sent to the model. That keeps you free to change models later without rebuilding the knowledge.

When retrieval comes back empty or low-confidence, the assistant refuses and hands off to a person rather than guessing. A public model for language; the firm for truth.

How IQ Assist is built. On the firm-controlled side, a visitor question reaches the Assist app, which retrieves authorised, partner-published knowledge from a firm-controlled remote RAG built on a Neo4j graph and vector index, not an OpenAI vector store. The app sends only the question and retrieved public snippets across the boundary to an OpenAI Agent, which composes a grounded, cited answer. If retrieval is empty or low confidence, it refuses and hands off to a person. The sealed core is not involved.
  • Control & audit

The firm owns the knowledge store, so you can show exactly what is authorised, update it, and erase it, rather than shipping a copy of firm knowledge into a vendor store.
  • Portable & model-agnostic

The language model is swappable later without rebuilding the knowledge, so there is no lock-in to one provider’s store.
  • The same pattern, on the public side

Retrieve, then generate. Secure Law and Secure Accounting run that pattern on premises, over confidential files. IQ Assist runs it over public knowledge, with a public model.

One honest caveat: even public retrieval means the visitor’s question can reach the model, so a PII guardrail at the app edge and zero-retention API settings are part of the design, not an afterthought.

Why it earns its place

Everyday public questions, under firm rules

IQ Assist solves a felt, everyday pain: deflecting unbillable questions from approved public content. When the firm needs AI on confidential files, that conversation leads naturally to Secure Law or Secure Accounting.

The line to keep clear

IQ Assist is not Secure

This offer is not called Secure, does not touch confidential client work, and sits firmly on the public side of the line. That framing is the product, not a footnote.
